For Nonprofits Focusing on Government Grants
Federal, state and local governments award hundreds of millions of dollars every year to nonprofit organizations. Winning a grant is a competitive process, and the best grant writers are the ones who know how to read an RFP, address the funder’s goals, and provide the right documentation to support their plans.
This product shows nonprofit grant writers exactly how to find, apply for, and win government grant money that’s available to nonprofit organizations. It focuses on how to actually find grant funding and apply for it successfully, and provide dozens of samples, examples, and models to make the process easier to understand.
Most grant writing guides are not much help to those who are seeking government grants simply because they focus on grants from private foundations and corporations. Government Grant Writing for Nonprofits focuses on the special needs of nonprofits looking for government grants and the unique requirements of government grant makers, who must demonstrate to the public a fair, efficient, and effective use of public dollars.
A Step-by-Step Walk Through the Process
The chapters in this manual walk the prospective grant writer step-by-step through the process of writing a successful grant proposal:
- Step 1 - Find the Money
- Step 2 - Review the Funding Announcement
- Step 3 - Plan the Proposal
- Step 4 - Write the Proposal
- Step 5 - Prepare the Budget
The manual also includes an extensive list from the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance of grant programs available to nonprofits, a sample notice of funding availability from the Federal Register, sample grant proposals, and even sample budgets.
