A proposal to reform the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA) is expected to be published this month for comment. The 271-page proposed plan is significantly broader than earlier versions and proposes extensive changes. Because the plan is more sweeping than expected, many industry officials are concerned that the new proposal complicates the process.
The proposal would create a standardized good-faith estimate, removes specific limits on the amounts lenders may charge to borrowers for originating and closing a loan, establishes tolerances for settlement costs, and amends the kickback provisions.
Join this “can’t-miss” audio conference as our industry expert covers the details of the new RESPA proposal and what it means for you. This cutting-edge audio conference will go over:
- What the regulators and industry experts are saying about the new rule
- Details of the Section 8 revisions and new definition of “required use” in Affiliated Business Relationships.
- What are the changes to the Good Faith Estimate and HUD-1?
- When will the proposed rules take affect and how long do lenders have to comply with the new rules?
- RESPA and the next step for implementation of the new rules
- What do the new RESPA reform rules mean for lenders?
- How does the new rule affect origination fees in FHA loans?
- And more!
Plus, 30-minutes after the audio conference will be set aside for an interactive question and answer session. Listen in, and get the chance to ask your specific questions!
